WICKED: THE Soundtrack has become the longest running number one ever on the UK\u2019s Official Compilations Chart.<\/p>\n
The record has now been defying gravity as the best selling compilation album for 16 weeks in a row, since it went straight to number once on December 5, 2024.<\/p>\n
On its release, it earned a hat-trick of Official Charts records: the biggest streaming debut for a musical soundtrack in UK chart history, the biggest debut week for a musical soundtrack in the 2020s, and the biggest week of vinyl sales for a musical soundtrack in the 21st century.<\/p>\n
The 16 weeks beats previous record holders Barbie: The Album and Now That\u2019s What I Call Music 103, which each spent 15 consecutive weeks at the summit.<\/p>\n
One of the most-anticipated soundtrack of the year, it was released to coincide with the film\u2019s arrival in theatres.<\/p>\n
Wicked: The Soundtrack includes the iconic songs \u201cDefying Gravity,\u201d \u201cPopular,\u201d \u201cDancing Through Life,\u201d \u201cThe Wizard And I\u201d and more like you\u2019ve never heard them before!<\/p>\n
With music and lyrics by legendary Grammy and Oscar\u00ae winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz, Wicked: The Soundtrack includes songs performed by Emmy, Grammy, and Tony winning powerhouse and Oscar\u00ae nominee Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Grammy-winning, multi-platinum recording artist and global superstar Ariana Grande as Glinda.<\/p>\n
