As announced by our colleagues at 2AS Media, Mamadou Guèye, former director of Domains and mayor of Djida Thiaroye Kao, was arrested for land fraud upon his return to Senegal.
According to Seneweb sources, the suspect was picked up at his home by the Keur Massar research brigade. His arrest is linked to the case involving the land plot of the Pikine-Guédiawaye court.
As part of this investigation led by the DIC (Criminal Investigation Division), the former Minister of Justice, Ismaïla Madior Fall, Mame Boye Diao, former director of Domains, and other suspects have already answered to justice. An arrest warrant had been issued against Mamadou Guèye, the last director of Domains under the presidency of Macky Sall, who was abroad at the time.
Upon request from prosecutor Saliou Dicko, head of the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor’s office, investigating judge of the 2nd chamber, Magatte Thiam, addressed a judicial delegation to the commander of the Keur Massar BR according to Seneweb sources.
This is how Mamadou Guèye was arrested at his home upon his return to the country. He was questioned about the sale of the court’s land plot, which was divided into 36 parcels. His presentation to the investigating magistrate is expected probably early next week.
