The famous religious singer Ass Dione is in custody at the Keur Massar research brigade. He was arrested as part of the investigation into the Pape Cheikh Diallo case. Like all persons arrested in this case, he was subjected to an HIV/AIDS screening test. The test “came back positive,” according to L’Observateur.
Ass Dione is the 52nd individual arrested as part of this investigation. The daily newspaper of the Futurs Médias Group reports that his arrest was not easy. “For 48 hours, plainclothes gendarmes actively searched for the suspect, first in Touba where they came up empty. He was finally located and cornered in Dakar,” the newspaper reports.
Libération reveals on its part that the religious singer confessed to investigators that he had intimate relations with Pape Cheikh Diallo. The newspaper adds that Dione acknowledged having used drugs, in “small quantities,” to be “more efficient” during his encounters with the host.
