At a press conference held Wednesday, the league condemned the acts “with the utmost firmness,” describing them as deeply damaging to the image of Senegalese professional football Dakaractu. The violence, which occurred outside the stadium on March 29, left a trail of destruction across the Parcelles Assainies and Cambérène neighborhoods.

Algaphe Diagne, the league’s vice president for governance, noted that the match had been classified as high-risk and all preventive measures within the league’s purview had been implemented Dakaractu. However, he pointed to security failures on public roads while emphasizing the organizing club’s responsibility in managing its supporters.

The situation is particularly troubling for Guédiawaye FC, which has been implicated in similar incidents earlier this season Dakaractu, marking a pattern of recurring problems.

In response, the LSFP has announced a comprehensive set of measures. A criminal complaint has been filed against unknown persons for destruction of public and private property Dakaractu. More immediately, the league has imposed precautionary sanctions on Guédiawaye FC: supporters are banned from attending the club’s next three away matches, and the team must play its next three home fixtures at a neutral venue without visiting fans Footem.

On the pitch, AS Pikine secured a 3-1 victory, overturning Guédiawaye’s early lead Wiwsport in what should have been a straightforward football match but instead became marred by post-game violence that has now put one of Senegal’s top-flight clubs under severe scrutiny.
