DAKAR — The National Gendarmerie, under the command of General Martin Faye, has carried out three new arrests as part of the execution of a judicial delegation issued by the investigating judge of the first chamber of the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court.
These arrests bring the total number of people arrested in the Pape Cheikh Diallo case to 55, according to information from Seneweb.
Two Arrests in Médina
In Médina, plainclothes gendarmes in an unmarked vehicle arrested a first suspect nicknamed “Petit.” The operation took place on Tuesday night into Wednesday at a fast-food restaurant on Rue 41, where he works.
According to information gathered, the arrest allegedly took place in the presence of his father and several customers of the establishment.
A second suspect was also apprehended in the same area by investigators during this operation.
Senelec Employee Arrested in Mbacké
The third suspect was arrested on Wednesday in Mbacké by the Research Brigade of the Touba gendarmerie company.
According to investigation elements, he is reportedly a Senelec employee, suspected of being a close collaborator of religious singer Ass Dione, who was himself already arrested in this case. His transfer to Dakar is said to be imminent.
Prosecutor and Judge Informed
Prosecutor Saliou Dicko and the investigating judge in charge of the case have been informed of these new developments.
